Ryan Gosling is on cloud nine following the birth of his second daughter Amada Lee in April. "It's just heaven," the actor tells Hello! Canada about life as a father, "I feel so lucky, I can't believe it."
The Canadian star and his longtime love Eva Mendes are also parents to 20-month-old Esmeralda, who they welcomed in Sept. 2014. Ryan admits that having children "has really changed my life," adding, "It's become better than I ever could have imagined."
As of late, the 35-year-old star has been travelling the world promoting his new film The Nice Guys. The caper comedy sees the actor playing a bumbling detective who reluctantly teams up with Russell Crowe's enforcer-for-hire to solve the mysterious death of an actress.
And even though the actor is dedicated to his career - he has three movies lined up including the remake of Blade Runner - Ryan says he's most happy when he is at home with his girls, in particular Esmeralda. "It's now exciting to just spend a day at home with my daughter," he says. "[Esmeralda] has a ferocious mind, so it takes a lot of energy to keep up with her, but it's exciting because she's so fascinated by everything!" the actor says with a laugh.
Fatherhood has come easy for Ryan, who once told Hello! that it's “not rocket science.” And as much love and devotion as he has for his daughters, the star is just as besotted with their mom, Eva, who he describes as "a dream."“I know that I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with,” he said, adding that the only quality he looks for in a woman is "that she’s Eva Mendes. There’s nothing else I’m looking for.”
