Luisana Lopilato and her husband Michael Bublé arrived back in Canada earlier this week for some much-needed downtime. And while their time in Vancouver will be full of happy moments with their sons, Noah, 2, and four-month-old Elias, it will also be a chance for Michael to rest and recuperate from vocal chord surgery.
"He’s doing okay," Luisana tells Hello! Canada. "He is so busy he doesn’t have time to take care of himself. So it’s time to go and do some tests and some things because in his career it’s one thing after the other, it never stops. But he’s doing so good," she adds.
On May 18, the crooner announced on Twitter that as per doctors' orders he has been forced to cancel some upcoming performances to rest his voice. He was set to receive the National Arts Centre Award at this year's Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards ceremony in Ottawa, but will now accept the honour in 2017.
And while the actress loves her native Argentina, she tells us she is happy to be back in her adopted homeland. "I love Canada. It’s my country now. I really like to have my time there too."
After a short maternity leave, Luisana will head back to work in August. It's an exciting time for the actress as she prepares to add English-speaking films to her storied resume. "I was a little nervous about my English," says the star about taking on her first role in the upcoming release Fair Market Value, "But you know what my English is good now so I just had to trust myself more. But I think I did a good job, I really liked myself when I saw the movie."
For the past four months, the couple have been basking in the joys of parenthood for the second time after the birth of son Elias on January 22. Adjusting to life as a family of four was a challenge for Noah, says Luisana, but he has since embraced his role as a big brother. "It was difficult the first two months but now he knows he has a brother and he will pass by and he goes and kisses him. He’s starting to really know that Elias is not leaving and he’s going to stay here with us. [Laughs]
