Canadian comedy legend Martin Short faced off with Drake in a hilarious interview filled with confusion and LOL-worthy zingers. The Saturday Night Live alum reprised his famed Jiminy Glick character to conduct the insult-ridden chat for a segment on his new variety show Maya & Marty.
"This is so much fun for me," declared Jiminy before serving the first of many burns, "Because normally I interview celebrities, so this is going to be a change." Drake tries his best to defend his stardom by referencing his current number-one single "One Dance," which has topped the Billboard chart for the past four weeks. "I've never heard it," Jiminy replied, adding, "And I have a feeling if I heard it I'd switch it off to something different."
The Toronto rapper tries his best to keep a straight face as Jiminy continues to deliver insult after insult. "So you're Canadian and a former child star. So literally we're talking about zero street cred," quips the comedian, who goes on with the interview without letting the rapper answer.
In true Jiminy Glick fashion, the journalist has to stop for a snack break, and kindly offers to share his donuts with the "Hotling Bling" singer. Of course the gesture comes with a little dig, with Jiminy calling out the rapper for "letting himself go."
Jiminy Glick first appeared in Martin's short-lived series The Martin Short Show in 1999. The character was such a hit that he landed his own spin-off series Primetime Glick. The show ran for three seasons and saw Martin, as Jiminy, interview a parade of celebrities including Steve Martin, Jerry Seinfeld, Steven Spielberg and Billy Crystal.
