It seems that fans of a potential romance between Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes will have to temper their enthusiasm. Real Housewives of Chicago star Claudia Jordan, who seemingly confirmed the couples' relationship on a recent podcast, is now saying that she "misspoke."
Earlier this week, the reality star said that the actor is "very happy with her, so I like that he seems very happy" while appearing on Allegedly with Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss. For many, the "her" in that statement was presumed to be the mother of 10-year-old Suri Cruise.
The 43-year-old reality star and "good friend" of the Oscar winner is now backtracking on her statements, saying she never confirmed that they are a couple.
"I have no knowledge of Jamie with Katie at all. I've never seen them together, he's never told me he's dating her," she told Entertainment Tonight just hours after the podcast. "A lot of times, I get asked questions about celebrities – some I know, some I don't – a lot times we just give a safe kind of generic answer."
Claudia went on to apologize for the confusion, saying, "Sorry to not have this bombshell story, but I cannot confirm them. I don't have the knowledge of this being fact, I don't. I misspoke."
Whether Jamie, 48, and Katie, 37, are dating has been a hot topic for several years. The pair were first spotted in public together in 2013 at a charity event in the Hamptons. Jamie was also spotted in Toronto recently, and many claim there was no reason to visit the city save for Katie, who's currently filming The Kennedys: After Camelot there.
Back in 2015, the Django Unchained actor told ET that a picture of he and Katie seemingly holding hands, which originally started the story, was taken out of context.
He said: "I guess some knuckle headed person who was here hit us with the phone cam. I guess they are trying to get money for whatever. It's amazing what people will do to sell you out."
