How Martine Forget is keeping 'calm' before her wedding and her best advice for brides to be

Hockey Wives star Martine Forget was the picture of cool, calm and collected when Hello! dropped in on her photo shoot for the fall 2016 collection of Canadian luxury outerwear brand Sentaler. The stress and panic that many a bride-to-be experiences in the weeks leading up to her big day has escaped the blond beauty, who told us she feels quite "calm" as her wedding to longtime love Jonathan Bernier draws near.

"A couple months ago when I was still in Toronto I was very stressed about it because I was not able to plan stuff and control everything," admitted Martine, adding, "Now that I'm in Montreal I'm more calm."

Before saying "I do" to her NHL beau in front of friends and family, including the couple's adorable 22-month-old son Tyler, Martine had a blowout celebration with her girlfriends in Montreal. "I just had my bachelorette and it makes me more excited because [the wedding] is coming in three weeks!"

The couple are parents to 22-month-old Tyler.

From choosing her dress to selecting a menu, Martine says she enjoyed "everything" about planning her big day. Now that she's in the bridal homestretch, we asked the model to share her best tips for newly engaged couples.

Hello! caught up with Martine on the set of her Sentaler photo shoot.

"I think you need to plan a lot in advance. Sometimes you need more than a year if you don't want to be stressed. You can plan a wedding in a couple of months but you're going to be stressed and scared you'll forget something. But if you're planning a year in advance, or more than a year, you'll be more relaxed and you'll have more time to decide on stuff."
