The photo was taken during Taylor's Fourth of July celebrations, which saw Taylor and Tom party with a big group of her famous friends, including Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid and Ruby Rose.
It has been a whirlwind romance for Taylor, 26, and 35-year-old Tom, who recently took their relationship to Nashville and to England to meet each other's parents. They also headed to Rome, and were pictured kissing and holding hands as they toured the Colosseum.
The very public nature of their love story has raised a few eyebrows among fans – not least because Tom has always liked to keep his personal relationship private. So, when he was pictured hanging out at the beach with Taylor and her friends at the weekend, wearing a fake 'T' heart tattoo on his arm and an 'I [heart] T.S' tank top, suspicions grew further.
A new theory has now emerged among certain fans – that the relationship is part of an extravagant music video shoot for a single that will be released in August. It has been noted that Taylor has previously used August release dates to preview a new album in October, and that Tom is nominated for an Emmy Award for The Night Manager, with the ceremony taking place in September.
But, those close to the couple insist they are very much in love. "She loves the fact that Tom acts like such a mature man. She loves that he is older. She feels very safe and protected with him," a source told E! News. "The attraction is very strong.... Taylor said she thinks he is 'The One', as odd and new as it sounds."
