Celine Dion announces release date of new French-language album

After delighting fans with live shows and a parade of couture fashion hits in Europe, Celine Dion has finally confirmed the release date for her upcoming French-language album Encore un soir. The singer took to Twitter to share the exciting news, writing that the compilation will be released on Aug. 26.

The new album is expected to reflect the highs and lows the Canadian songstress has experienced over the past few years, including the heartbreaking loss of her husband René Angélil in January. The album's title track and first single, which was released in May, represents the passage of time and is part of a promise she made to her late husband to march forward with her career.

In a previously released statement, Celine revealed the importance of Encore un soir and how hard she and René worked to bring the project to life. "I am happy to announce that the projects we had discussed with René, being my return to the stage in Las Vegas and the production of a new French-language album, have been fulfilled," said the singer.

The 15-track album features tracks like "L'étoile" (The Star), "Je nous veux" (I Want Us), "Les yeux au ciel" (The Eyes of the Sky) and a remastered cut of her hit 1984 song "Trois heures vingt" (Twenty Past Three).

In addition to dropping her new album next month, the mother of three will return to Canada to perform 17 sold-out shows in Quebec.
