Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck may be on great terms following their split, continuing to live together and take their kids on family holidays, but that doesn't mean a reconciliation is in the cards. Jennifer has dashed those rumours, stating that their top priority is doing what's best for their children.
Speaking during an interview with NBC's Today, the actress opened up about their relationship, admitting: "We are definitely a modern family."
When the host Natalie Morale's said it was "really admirable" how Ben and Jennifer had continued to put their children first following the split, the mum-of-three replied: "It has to be. You don't have a choice. It has to be. We're doing really well."
This focus on their children led Jennifer to join Ben on a trip to Europe earlier in this summer, which sparked rumours they were getting back together. However Jennifer, 44, said that is not the case.
"Ben was working in London on Justice League and I felt like, 'Well, the kids should have that experience," Jennifer said. "He and I are great friends and we just all went en masse."
The couple split in June 2015 just one day after their tenth wedding anniversary, and amid claims that Ben had been unfaithful to his wife.
Despite the way their marriage came to an end, Jennifer previously confessed in a revealing interview with Vanity Fair that if she had to do it all over again she would still marry Ben. "I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him," she said. "And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again."
The actress continued, "You can't have these three babies and so much of what we had. He's the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He's the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He's just a complicated guy. I always say, 'When his sun shines on you, you feel it.' But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it's cold. He can cast quite a shadow."
