The reasons Jamie and Jools Oliver could have chosen the name River
Jamie and Jools Oliver surely spent a good chunk of time deciding on a thoughtful name for their newborn son. And after keeping fans waiting for two weeks, the pair confirmed their use of the moniker 'River' for their little boy – but what inspired their choice?
'River' is particular significant for celebrity chef Jamie. He was first noticed by the BBC while working as a sous chef in the acclaimed River Café in Fulham back in 1997. He made an unscripted appearance in a documentary about the Italian restaurant, which led to him being given his own BBC show, The Naked Chef, two years later.

Fast forward 17 years, and Jamie is now one of the biggest names in the culinary world; perhaps River's name is a nod to the place where it all began.
Jamie and Jools are known for picking unique names for their children. The couple are also parents to Poppy Honey, 14, Daisy Boo, 12, Petal Blossom, six, and five-year-old Buddy Bear.
Ever since the arrival of River Rocket on 8 August, both Jamie and Jools have shared a number of photos of the new arrival, giving fans a peek inside their happy home life as the family enjoys precious time together.
CELEBRITIES WHO NAMED THEIR CHILDREN AFTER FLOWERS
When River was just five-days-old, Jamie melted hearts when he hacked into Jools' Instagram account to pay a loving tribute to his wife. The 41-year-old shared a snapshot of his wife asleep curled up on the sofa next to her newborn son, who is lying in a moses basket.
"@jamieoliver hacked mums Instagram account. Bless them both sleeping and exhausted together," he wrote. "I can't tell you what a wicked mum this chick is.... I had the best week off readjusting to the new family member a baby boy and I've loved every single minute....everyone has grown and adjusted.
"Big love to all the mums out there it's hard graft amazing. Happy weekend people and when Jools finds out I hacked her account all I can say is I love you jo."
