On Nov. 4, 2015, Justin Trudeau made his mark on history. The father of three was sworn in as Canada’s 23rd prime minster more than four decades after his own dad, Pierre Trudeau, took his seat as head of Parliament in 1968. Justin was surrounded by his loving wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, and children Xavier, 8, Ella-Grace, 6, and 20-month-old Hadrian in Ottawa.

Just three weeks after he was sworn in as prime minister, Justin enjoyed his first audience with the Queen on Nov. 25. Her Majesty welcomed the Canadian prime minister to join her for a friendly chat in her private apartment at Buckingham Palace.

On July 3, Justin made history when he became the first Canadian prime minister to walk in a Pride parade as he marched in Toronto alongside thousands of revellers – including Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Mayor John Tory.

Peterborough, Ont. native Jim Godby and his family set out on a hike in Quebec's Gatineau Park, and encountered a shirtless Justin Trudeau enjoying the outdoors with his family in August. The father of two was on a camping trip in the park when he stumbled upon the Canadian prime minister leading wife Sophie and their three children out of the region's Lusk Cave. The gracious prime minister posed for a selfie with Jim's son Alexander, which quickly went viral.

Justin was one of thousands of fans who descended on downtown Kingston, Ont., to watch The Tragically Hip rock the stage on the final stop of their farewell Man Machine Poem tour on Aug. 20. The politician even received a shout-out from frontman Gord Downie for addressing issues facing the country's Indigenous community.
