Diary of the Week: Right to Play, COSA Awards and Sandro opening
They shoot, they score! Raising $1.9 million, the Right to Play Tribute Dinner saw 1,100 guests gather at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre as host Ben Mulroney helped honour two special MVPs – hockey icon Wayne Gretzky and real-estate mogul Michael Cooper. The latter earned laughs with his list of things he and Wayne have accomplished “together”: like scoring 1,072 NHL goals and raising 10 children, between them!
Meanwhile, more than 400 beauty experts gathered at the Fairmont Royal York to celebrate their own as the Cosmetics Outstanding Service Awards honoured Canadian professionals with exceptional customer service skills. And the Sandro store at Yorkdale Shopping Centre opened with a splash of champagne as the Coveteur and Toronto's style set feted the French label. DJ set by Guillaume Viau had everyone's designer-clad toes tapping.
