Drake wins his first AMA and reunites with 'Degrassi' castmate Nina Dobrev

Drake has added four American Music Awards to his collection of trophies! The rapper's appearance in the winner's circle at Sunday's show marked the first time the Toronto native scored an AMA. The 30-year-old claimed top honours for Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist, Favourite Song Soul/R&B and Favourite Song Rap/Hip-Hop.

Nina and Drake shared a sweet embrace on stage.

In one of the night's most Canadian moments, Drake reunited with his former Degrassi: The Next Generation co-star Nina Dobrev when accepting one of his awards. "Me and Nina were on Degrassi together," he pointed out, adding, "We've come a long way."

The duo starred in the hit Canadian teen drama together in the late 2000s. Both have gone on to become superstars in their fields, something Drake pointed out when he congratulated his old friend on all of her success in television and film.

In addition to picking up awards, Drake also debuted his new commercial for Apple music during the broadcast. In response to Taylor Swift's commercial, in which she hilariously falls off a treadmill while running to the rapper's hit song "Jumpman," the "Hotline Bling" singer revealed that his go-to workout song is Taylor's "Bad Blood." The minute-long clip shows Drake dancing around the gym before having an unfortunate bench-pressing accident.
