Close family and friends attended an intimate memorial for Debbie Reynolds and her daughter Carrie Fisher at the Star Wars actress' Beverly Hills home on Thursday (Jan. 5). Several famous faces, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Meryl Streep and George Lucas, were seen at the family compound in the Coldwater Canyon area as they paid their final respects.
Singin' In the Rain star Debbie died on Dec. 28 aged 84 after a suspected stroke at her son's home. Her daughter Carrie passed away the previous day from a heart attack she suffered on a plane from London to Los Angeles. The funeral of the mother and daughter was planned by Debbie's son, Todd Fisher, and Carrie's daughter, Billie Lourd.
Over one hundred people gathered at the get-together, while eulogies were delivered by Billie, Hollywood star Meryl and Stephen Fry. "Billie wanted the people her mother loved to gather in that living room one last time," a guest told People, before revealing: "All the tributes circled back to Billie and how much Carrie loved her."
Speaking about the private memorial, the close friend added: "The only things missing were Carrie and Debbie. Debbie would sit in the corner, and everyone there would come up and pay homage. Even the biggest stars were starstruck by her. Carrie would walk around barefoot with a can of Coca-Cola, making sure everyone was having a good time, saying the funniest things you’ve ever heard."
Actress Elle Barkin and Eric Idle with his wife Tania Kosevich were also present at the service, while actresses Candace Bergen and Emma Roberts, who co-stars with Carrie's daughter in Scream Queens, also paid their respects. It is believed Debbie and Carrie will be buried together at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills on Friday.
