Tuesday marks one year since the world lost David Bowie, and his wife Iman is leading tributes to the iconic singer. The model took to her social media sites to share a photograph of a double rainbow which was spotted over New York City on the day of his death. "Jan 10th, 2016 NYC Skyline #ForeverAndEver #ForeverLove #BowieForever," she wrote.
David, who produced hit singles Let's Dance and Fame, died on Jan. 10 after losing his 18-month battle to liver cancer. The couple are parents to 15-year-old daughter Alexandria. The star was also father to Duncan Jones from his first marriage to Angie Bowie.
Elsewhere, Catherine Zeta-Jones took to her Instagram page to upload a sentimental picture of herself wearing a T-shirt with the late singer's face on it. Posing outdoors on a rocky patch of land, the Hollywood actress simply wrote in the caption: "Bowie+Rocks. Missed but never forgotten."
The past 12 months have proved to be particularly challenging for Iman. Less than three months after her husband died, the 61-year-old lost her mother Maryan Abdulmajid. In June, Iman marked what would have been her and David's 24th wedding anniversary by posting a sweet throwback photo on Twitter. The image appeared to have been taken during a photoshoot, and had the words "The best thing about me is you", written along the bottom.
Shortly before David's death, the mother-of-two spoke about the secret to their happy marriage. "We both understand the difference between the person and the persona," she explained. "When we are home, we are just Iman and David. We're not anybody else."
"I think the secret to a lasting marriage is timing, first of all," she added. "You have to be at the right time in your life that you're ready for an everlasting relationship, that it becomes first, and a priority in life. If your career is important to you, don’t get married and have children, because something will give."
