According to multiple sources, the duo have been exchanging friendly texts since the world learned that Brad and Angelina Jolie were divorcing. E News describes their contact as "friendly, but limited relationship."
The whole thing should really come as no surprise to fans of the two stars. Back in 2015, Jennifer explained her relationship with Brad to The Hollywood Reporter.
"We're not in daily communication. But we wish nothing but wonderful things for each other. Nobody did anything wrong. You know what I mean? It was just like, sometimes things [happen]."
She added: "If the world only could just stop with the stupid, soap-opera [stuff]. There's no story. I mean, at this point it's starting to become -- please, give more credit to these human beings."
Jennifer and Brad were one of Hollywood's golden couples before they decided to go their separate ways in 2005. Since then, Brad went on to have six children with wife Angelina while Jennifer tied the knot with actor Justin Theroux in 2015.
Since announcing their breakup last September, Angelina and Brad have been negotiating a custody agreement for their children Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
During a recent visit to Cambodia to celebrate her new Netflix film First They Killed My Father, Angelina provided an update on her relationship with Brad to BBC World News. "We are a family, and we will always be a family. And we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it," she said.
"It's been a difficult few months. Right now, I'm going through a moment when just everybody's in my room," she added, laughing. "Two dogs, two hamsters and two children at the moment. It's wonderful. But, usually, I just wake up trying to figure out who's going to get the dog out, who's going to start the pancakes, and did anybody brush their teeth."
