Pamela Anderson paid another visit to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy in London on Thursday (Mar. 30th), sparking further speculation that the two are more than just friends.
The British Columbia native addressed the relationship rumours in a blog post on her website the same day, writing that Julian is a “dear friend” and “is one of [her] favourite people.” But could a romance be blossoming between the pair?
“Let’s see what happens when he’s free,” she said. “But you know I spend probably more time with him than any other man socially, which is very odd,” Pamela told a Swedish talk show.
While the computer programmer is being questioned over sexual assault allegations in Sweden, Pamela assured her fans that he is a lovely man.
“Julian is a human being who is extremely empathetic and cares deeply about the world. And — because of his work he has made some powerful enemies in a few countries — America especially by exposing them. Julian is trying to free the world by educating it. It is a romantic struggle — I love him for this.” The former Baywatch star also admitted that Julian “is the strongest person [she] knows.”
The Canadian actress also took to her blog to defend her friend against harsh criticism from the Swedish government. In a candid post, the mother of two wrote:
“He’s a good person who cares about the world. Everyone can see what has been done to him is wrong. He is a kind and deeply empathetic person. Uncompromising on principle. Something that is born out of his disposition to curiosity,” said Pamela, adding that the press has painted an unrealistic picture of the Australian native. “Often the public image projects a harshness that is not at all what he is like in a relaxed and trusting environment. He’s the good guy… and I admire him greatly.”
Julian has yet to respond on Pamela’s comments.
