Drake is officially the coolest chaperone ever. The Canadian rapper escorted his second cousin Jalaah Moore and her date to their high school senior prom in Memphis, Tennessee over the weekend.
According to TMZ, the Toronto native helped make Jalaah’s day extra special by showering her with luxurious gifts, including custom rose gold sequined outfits for her and her date and a chauffeured white Rolls-Royce to take her to the party.
Drake’s job didn’t stop there. The 30-year-old artist went into protective mode and stayed at the Fairley High School dance to keep an eye on his younger relative. Naturally, his presence generated quite a buzz amongst students, who couldn’t believe the rapper was in the room let alone playing third wheel to their classmates! Unfortunately for party-goers, the “Passionfruit” singer didn’t perform at the event, but he did wow students by throwing an amazing after-party for Jalaah and 400 of her closest friends at the local Hard Rock Café.
A delighted Jalaah took to Instagram to share her excitement over the night, captioning a photo of herself with her date and big cousin with “Best Day Everrr.”
Drake also took to Instagram to share a sweet snap of the two lovebirds, celebrating the amazing night. “Prom 2017. #FairleyHighSchool #901 #YoungLove,” he wrote.
This isn’t the first time that the rapper has made someone’s dreams come true. In 2014, he caught wind of a viral campaign launched by friends of 15-year-old Kennedy Brown, whose dying wish was to meet the “Hotline Bling” singer. Just two months before she lost her battle with brain cancer, Kennedy received a surprise visit from Drake at her Hospice care centre in Houston.
