Katy Perry and Taylor Swift’s on-going feud might be coming to an end. Days after Katy released what many think is a comeback song to Taylor Swift’s track “Bad Blood,” the “Swish Swish” singer says it’s time to move on and says her former friend is the only one who can put the drama to rest.
"That's true, there is a situation," admitted the 32-year-old singer during a segment on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special. She went on to reveal to the Late Late Show host that Taylor was the one who started the fight. "Honestly, it's really like she started it and it's time for her to finish it,” she told the British actor.
Katy further explained the backstory to all the drama. “There [were] three backing dancers that went on [Taylor’s] tour… and they asked me if they could go and I was like, ‘Yeah of course,’” recalled the “Bon Appétit” singer.
The recently named American Idol judge then asked the dancers to include a 30-day contingency in their contracts so they could re-join her on tour if needed. A year later, Katy texted the performers to invite them on the Prismatic World Tour, to which they tentatively agreed to until they talked to Taylor’s management. Unfortunately, the talk didn’t go so well and the dancers were reportedly fired by the” Shake It Off” singer’s team.
Katy said she tried to make amends by calling Taylor to work things out, but the blond bombshell would not respond. "She wouldn't speak to me. It was a full shut-down and then she writes a song about me and I'm like 'OK, cool, cool, cool. That's how you want to deal with it,’” said the star.
She also revealed that she’s ready to move past all the drama and told James that she would be open to burying the hatchet if Taylor were to send her a text that proclaimed “the beef is off the grill.”
