Simon Cowell’s son tries to take his job on ‘America’s Got Talent’

Looks like Simon Cowell’s son Eric wants to follow in his dad’s footsteps! The America’s Got Talent judge brought his three-year-old along to the taping of the show’s season premiere and little Eric was quick to make his mark on the judging panel.

In an adorable behind-the-scenes clip of the hit talent competition show, Eric is seen pressing the big red button multiple times while sitting on his father’s lap. The 57-year-old judge asked if he was “trying to do [his] job,” to which the youngster confidently replied, “yes.”

This is the second time that Eric has joined his dad at work. Just last month he made an appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, declaring that he is the best “man” to judge the contestants. “I am daddy’s job now,” Eric said.

A proud Simon thinks his son has inherited his ability to discover the next big superstar. He admitted to Extra that he thinks Eric “is a brilliant judge,” and has a great eye for finding amazing artists. “I watch him, and when he likes an act he’s normally right, and when an act’s a bit boring and he loses interest, he’s normally right. He loves pushing the buzzers. He’s got a real sense of it and he likes coming down,” he told the media outlet.

Simon and his longtime partner Laura Silverman welcomed their son on Valentine’s Day in 2014. As Eric has gotten older, Simon has flourished in his paternal role and can’t stop gushing over his boy in interviews and on social media.
