“This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days,” George's rep said in a statement to HELLO!
The couple revealed that they were expecting twins in early February. "It's going to be an adventure," George said at the time, adding that he and Amal have embraced parenthood "with arms wide open." Speaking about how he feels about becoming a parent later in life, the Hollywood star added: "I'm feeling a little better about being 56 by the time [they come]."
According to George, growing their family wasn't always in the cards. "I didn't know that we'd have kids," he told E! News before mentioning that after tying the knot in Sept. 2014 it only seemed natural to have children. “I was very happy that we were going to get married and then (a pregnancy) seemed like the next step,” he explained.
The couple have spent the last few months preparing their London home for their new arrivals and learning some important parenting techniques. “I know swaddling. I know what I’m in for," George told Extra, adding that he's been doing what he can to support Amal through her pregnancy. "She is amazing. I don’t have anything to do. There is nothing I can do to help, but make tea and stuff."
