Celebrities like Selena Gomez, Alicia Keys and Kate Winslet can't get enough of Canada and they want the whole world to know it! In honour of the country's 150th anniversary and to promote We Day Ottawa taking place in the capital on July 2, the famous faces revealed what they love most about the Great White North, including Canada's amazing people, food, and wonderful climate.
"[Canada has] great people [and] beautiful weather," Selena gushed in the video, before adding how much she can't get enough of Tim Hortons’ everything bagel. While the 24-year-old didn’t touch on her love for Canadian men (think Justin Bieber and her current beau The Weeknd), she did mention that she loves our accent. "[I love how they say] about," admitted the former Disney Channel star.
Oscar-winner Kate Winslet also spoke of her fondness of Canadian citizens, describing us as “nice, kind, generous people. Alicia Keys chimed in saying that she sees the country in a very positive light. "When I think about Canada I think of progressive," the mother of two explained in the short clip.
Bryan Cranston, Josh Gad, DJ Khaled, Edward Norton, Tyrese Gibson, and the Muppets are also featured in the video. And while the stars dish on the positive attributes of their northern neighbours, the true purpose of the video is to raise awareness for the WE Charity. The organization was founded in 1995 by one of Canada’s leading philanthropists Craig Kielburger. To date it has raised more than $45 million for more than 1,000 charities, mostly centered around the betterment of children.
