Hilary Duff has a busy schedule of summer adventures planned for her five-year-old son Luca before he starts school in the fall. "We're going to take some good little getaways this summer for sure. Before he starts kindergarten," the 29-year-old told E! News.
The actress also opened up about how happy she is to be home in Los Angeles after spending the last few months in New York working on the third season of her hit series Younger. "I've been working for four months straight. He's been out here a few times and I've been back home a few times but I really don't get to be as hands on as I usually am when I'm not working," she explained.
Now that production on Younger has wrapped, the mother of one won’t miss out on anymore milestones in her son’s life. "I missed [his pre-kindergarten graduation]. I wanted to die," said the star.
Hilary also revealed that she is trying her best to protect her son from fully understanding her celebrity status and all that comes with having a famous mom, but admitted she thinks he already knows.
“He's starting to figure it out more and more. I think some little rascal at school told him what my name is,” she said during her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday (June 29). “Luca didn’t know my name, and then he said to me, ‘I know your name.’ And I said, ‘I know.’ And he [shakes his head and] said, ‘I know your name … Hilary Duff,'" she told the late-night host.
