Justin Hartley recalls the time he pretended to be Ryan Reynolds

Everyone wants to be Ryan Reynolds, even This Is Us star Justin Hartley! The actor appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonon Tuesday (Nov 21) where he recalled a hilarious fan encounter that left him pretending to be the Canadian actor. It all started when he bumped into a “fan” at a charity event.

“It’s really neat because you get to raise money for good causes, and people recognize you, and they’re really nice to you,” he said, continuing, “This woman recognized me, and I could tell she did because she made this face,” said Justin while pulling a shocked face.

The actor, 40, continued: “She really likes me! I was feeling pretty good about myself. She starts telling me how great I am and how in love with me she is… She asked how Blake was, and I didn’t know what she was talking about. She then asked me if I knew Deadpool was going to be that big of a hit.”

The handsome actor didn’t have the heart to tell her the truth. “I just pretended like I was the coolest guy on Earth,” he said with a laugh.

Justin and Chrishell got married in Malibu last month.

While Justin might not be Ryan, he shares a lot of the same characteristics as the Vancouver native. Like Ryan, Justin is a cool husband, a great actor and an awesome dad. The former Passions star married his sweetheart Chrishell Stause a short three weeks ago and is a doting father to his daughter Isabella, 13, who he shares with his ex-wife Lindsay Hartley. And it’s clear he thinks his daughter is a total princess, “Everyone keeps telling me they turn 13, and all of a sudden, they turn into a different person,” he explained to People. “I’ve got a lucky angel here. I don’t know what’s going on, but she’s fantastic.”
