Earlier this year, Jamie Lynn Spears experienced a mother’s worst nightmare – she almost lost her nine-year-old daughter Maddie following a serious ATV accident. As the year comes to a close, the singer has reflected on the scary experience and publicly thanked the first responders who saved her daughter’s life.

The mother of one recently re-shared a photo of her daughter posing with her heroes John and Victoria. She captioned the Instagram post: “The hardest milestone me and my family have ever faced was almost losing our beautiful Maddie, but thanks to God and the two angels in this picture we were able to celebrate Maddie turning 9 years old all together. This milestone became a true miracle, and we are forever grateful for that. #12DaysOfJLS

It’s a miracle her little girl survived after the ATV she was riding flipped over into a pond, where Maddie was submerged, unconscious, for two minutes before being airlifted to the hospital. Five days after the accident, Maddie was released from the hospital with her loving mom and stepfather Jamie Watson by her side.

Since the February incident, Jamie Lynn has posted many photos and messages on social media, in which she has thanked her fans for all their love and support for her daughter. "I'll never stop thanking each of you for your prayers," she said in one touching post.

It’s safe to say every birthday from here on out will be a very meaningful celebration of life for Maddie. For her ninth birthday, this past summer, the 26-year-old mother of one organized a lavish pool party for her daughter and her friends. Sharing photos from the exciting day, Jamie wrote, “Today was the PERFECT day for a PARTY Thanks to everyone for coming out, and celebrating with our baby girl”.
