In addition to dazzling in an incredible black ensemble, Debra had a lot to say on the Golden Globes red carpet!
While speaking to E!, Debra said, "I was so shocked to hear that E! doesn’t believe in paying their female cohost the same as their male cohost. I miss Catt Sadler. So we stand with her. And that’s something that can change tomorrow. We want people to start having this conversation that women are just as valuable as men."

Seth Meyers had a hilarious and timely opening speech as host of the Golden Globes! Particularly funny was the "punchline game" he played with a few of the nominees, in which the actresses were prompted to finish a joke.
Seth began the joke by saying, "The Golden Globes turned 75 this year," while Jessica Chastain complete the thought with, "but the actress that plays his wife is still only 32."
Amy Poehler was also in on the joke. The two bantered back and forth, with the host explaining, "I do the set up, you do the punchline." Amy responded with complete (and hilarious) attitude, "Oh, is that how it works? You're explaining something I already know. Is this the mansplaining part of the evening?"

And another Big Little Lies win! Laura took home the award for best supporting actress in a mini series and had something to say about it:

“Many of us were taught not to tattle. It was a culture of silence and that was normalized. I urge all of us to not only support survivors and bystanders who are brave enough to tell their truth, but to promote restorative justice," she said. "May we also please protected and employ them. May we teach our children that speaking out without the fear of retribution is our cultures new north star.”

Legendary talkshow host, activist and author Oprah Winfrey took home the Cecil B. DeMille award, and her speech was truly presidential:
"In 1964, I was a little girl, sitting on the linoleum floor of my mother’s house, watching Anne Bancroft present the Oscar for best actor. She opened the envelope and said five words that literally made history: The winner is Sidney Poitier. I’d never seen a black man being celebrated like that. And I tried many times to explain what a moment like that means to a little girl, a kid watching from the cheap seats as my mom came through the door, bone tired from cleaning other peoples' houses."
She continued: "It is not lost on me that little girls are watching the first black woman winning the very same award. I want to say that I value the press more than ever before, as we try to navigate these complicated times.
What I know for sure, is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have and I’m especially proud and inspired by all the women who have felt strong enough and empowered enough to speak up and share their personal stories. This year we became the story, but it’s not just a story affecting the entertainment industry. I want to express gratitude to all the women who have endured years of abuse and assault because they, like my mother, had children to feed, bills to pay and dreams to pursue. They’re the women whose names we’ll never know.
"We all have lived in a culture of brutally powerful men. For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dared to speak their truth to the power of those men. But their time is up!"
