Royal and celebrity fans alike are dying to find out who will be in Meghan Markle’s bridal party, and many have their fingers crossed that Priyanka Chopra will walk down the aisle of St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19 when the Suits star weds Prince Harry. The pair have been close pals since meeting at a party a few years back, but the Quantico star played it fairly coy when discussing her involvement in the royal wedding party.
Priyanka gushed over her best friend while speaking to Harper’s Bazaar Arabia , but all she would say about the wedding was, “If you see me there, you’ll know.” It definitely wouldn't be a surprise to see the 35-year-old in the pews. The stars share many interests and values, like women’s empowerment and equality, and have been known to grace each other’s Instagram accounts before Meghan shut down her social media accounts. When the royal engagement was announced, Priyanka sent her best wishes in an Instagram post, saying, "Congratulations to my girl @meghanmarkle and Prince Harry!! I'm so happy for you Meg! You deserve the best always… keep smiling that infectious smile. Xoxo."
Big-hearted Priyanka was fawning over her bestie once again in her most recent interview, where she praised Meghan's ability to handle the pressure of the limelight with grace and poise, “I don’t think anybody else would be able to do it the way she will. She’s just right for it,” the former Miss World shared.
She continued by speaking to the lovely personality of the royal-to-be. “She’s an icon, truly, that girls can look up to, that women can look up to. She’s normal, she’s sweet, she’s nice, she thinks about the world, wants to change it and this was even before any of this happened.”
Meghan has been an outspoken feminist and political activist since grade school. And while marrying the love of her life, Prince Harry, is a wonderful occasion for her personal life, it's also a special opportunity for the rest of the world, “I do think Meghan being a part of the royal family is a big step in the direction of so many things,” Priyanka explained. “Of women, of feminism, of diversity, of race, of the monarchy versus everyone else. It’s a beautiful step in the right direction.”
