In the weeks leading up to Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry, her mom, Doria Ragland reportedly scored a friend date with none other than media mogul Oprah Winfrey. The bride-to-be’s mom was spotted beaming and carrying a load of gifts as she left the star’s California mansion on Saturday (April 28). Though the purpose for Doria’s visit is unclear, who really needs a reason to visit Oprah, anyways?
The Los Angeles native received what must have been the royal Oprah treatment! After nearly six hours, Meghan’s mom emerged from the Santa Barbara home holding a gift basket stuffed what could only be some of Oprah’s favourite products – and the 64-year-old TV queen has proven time and again that she knows what’s good!
A source told the Daily Mailthat this likely isn’t the first time Doria has met with the former talk-show host. “Whether it’s pre- or post-wedding interview with the mother of the princess bride for her magazine or OWN network, Oprah definitely wants the inside track. And this is probably not the first conversation she’s had with Doria – or the last,” the source revealed. Of course, Oprah is always one to be the first to know anything, so royal watchers can look forward to the fruits of this meeting in the future.
But whether she’s gearing up for an interview with Oprah or just hanging out with her new celebrity pal, the yoga instructor is surely over the moon as her daughter’s nuptials grow closer. Doria is sure to be beaming once again in the pews of St George’s Chapel, and she’s already got a fan in her future son-in-law, Pirince Harry, who said during the couple’s engagement interview that, “Her mum’s amazing!” It’s been reported that Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, will also make an appearance on his daughter’s big day. The father of the bride was recently spotted brushing up on his knowledge of England at a coffee shop in Mexico last month.
Their May 19 nuptials will be an affair to remember, with nearly a billion people set to watch the broadcast and 600 guests invited to watch the ceremony in person at Windsor Castle before heading over to a lunchtime reception hosted by the Queen.
