Almost as exciting as the looks debuted at every MET Gala are the amount of loved-up couples who hit the the prestigious event's red carpet every year – especially when it comes to Hollywood's favourite couple, George and Amal Clooney. Since welcoming their adorable 10-month-old twins, Ella and Alexander, into the world last June, the two have generally kept out of the spotlight... Until now!
Of course, all eyes were on the couple. Amal, stunning as ever, rocked a unique old Hollywood look by designer Richard Quinn, who was honoured by none other than Queen Elizabeth II at her first trip to London Fashion Week this year! The voluminous ensemble featured satin navy pants topped with a unique metallic floral skirt and corset bodice. Dangling from her ears were a pair of dazzling Lorraine Schwartz chandelier earrings. Her husband, meanwhile, kept things simple in a dashing black tuxedo. When a photographer asked where their adorable kiddos were, George joked that they were hiding under their mom's skirt!Amal stunned in a unique ensemble by Richard Quinn. Photo: © Getty Images
The stunning couple joined celebrity pals on the carpet, all of whom scored a coveted invite to the party of the year organized by Vogue and Conde Nast artistic director Anna Wintour. Amal's Catholic-themed creation hit the nail on the head when it came to this year's theme, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.
The 40-year-old co-hosted the stylish event alongside Rihanna and Donatella Versace, who have attended the gala seven and 16 times, respectively! It's not surprise that Anna chose three strong, inspirational women to host one of the evening's most controversial theme yet, bound to produce some seriously daring looks.
This is the mother of two's second time attending the luxe event, her first time being with George in 2015, where she looked red hot in a bright Maison Margiela tiered gown created especially for her by John Galliano.
And the next time the new parents step out, it will likely be for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal wedding! Miguel Perez, the man behind the human rights attorney’s luscious brown locks, confirmed that Oscar winner George and his wife will be in Windsor on May 19 to attend the wedding. The celebrity hairstylist has also been in cahoots with the royal-to-be, having been styling her hair since Amal introduced the two when Meghan moved to London.
