Jacob Tremblay is on the hunt for Ryan Reynolds in Japan

By: Meaghan Wray

Jacob Tremblay has solved the mystery! The adorable child star somehow ended up in Japan at the same time as Ryan Reynoldsand took his hunt for the Marvel superhero to Instagram – but the search party is officially over. After three days of looking for the Deadpool 2 actor, Jacob has finally crossed paths with him on Tuesday (May 30) and has a photo to prove it.

The 11-year-old actor shared a snap with Ryan, who looked surprised to be seeing him at one of the action film's press conferences in Tokyo. The young star captioned the photo: "I FOUND HIM!!! If you can believe it you can achieve it!!! #TheHuntForDeadpool#MissionAccomplished Thanks @VancityReynolds you are the greatest!"

But this is, of course, not where the journey began. The Room star first shared a photo of himself in a similar location as Ryan, asking, "@VancityReynolds Where you at?!" This lead to a few other stops along the way, as Jacob sight-saw and hunted for Ryan all his way around the Japanese city.

@VancityReynolds Where you at?! The hunt for #Deadpool begins...

The young Vancouver native, who recently starred alongside Owen Wilson in Wonder, didn't stop searching for his fellow Canuck. Where did he go next? Tokyo Disneyland! The young actor shared a photo of himself in front of the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday (May 29), with a hand shielding his eyes as though he was looking far and wide for his pal, Ryan. "#TheHuntForDeadpool continues...at #DisneylandTokyo...I thought Deadpool was a Marvel Superhero?! #whereistheDeadpoolride@VancityReynolds," the caption reads.

About nine hours later, Ryan took to Instagram to share his whereabouts. The father of two was appearing at a Deadpool 2 event in the Japanese city, where he can be seen smiling and holding a microphone with the caption, "Thank you Tokyo. What a night. I kept the microphone." When will these two cross paths?

But Disneyland isn't where Jacob's search began. He first took to social media on Monday (May 28) to share his escapades. Posting a side-by-side photo of both Jacob and Ryan in very similar locations in Japan, he captioned the snap: “@VancityReynolds Where you at?! The hunt for #Deadpool begins…” The father of two is currently promoting Deadpool 2 across Asia and stopped in Tokyo for some beautiful sightseeing. Just an hour before Jacob caught wind of Ryan being nearby, the 41-year-old shared his original photo on his own Instagram , writing: “Hello Tokyo. It’s been a while.”

Jacob didn’t seem too distracted with finding Ryan! During his quest, the younger Vancouver native paid a visit to a hedgehog café in the Harajuku district of Tokyo, sharing an adorable snap cradling one of the little creatures. “#HedgeHogCafe…it was cute…until it pooped on me.  #thehuntforDeadpoolupdate - he wasn't there.”

Though Blake Lively’s husband has yet to respond to this hilarious search, it will likely come soon if his previous social media and real-life antics are any indication. Speaking of antics, during his South Korean tour stop, the actor took to the stage of a singing competition dressed as a unicorn and sang “Tomorrow” from the musical Annie. He removed the mask to reveal himself to a screaming audience of fans who were too excited to see Deadpool in person. The actor also gave fans the giggles recently when he tweeted in support of Blake’s latest project, A Simple Favor , in which the lead character Emily goes missing. But the 30-year-old wouldn’t even spill the beans of Emily’s whereabouts to her hubby, prompting the Vancouver native to tweet: "You can tell me. We're married. You once drove me to the hospital when you were giving birth. So... what the f--k happened to Emily?"
