Demi Lovato's famous friends share outpouring of support after her reported overdose
Demi Lovato has always been open with fans about her struggle with depression, eating disorders and substance abuse, and its this honesty and openness that's won her famous fans and her Lovatics alike. So a wave of sadness flooded social media when news of the singer's overdose on Tuesday (July 24) was reported by TMZ. Ellen DeGeneres, Lady Gaga and Joe Jonas were among the stars who sent an outpouring of support to the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer, who is said to be in "stable" condition.
"We should all wrap our arms of love around Demi Lovato," tweeted Gaga. "I am so happy you’re alive. Thank God. If I know my monsters as well as I believe I do, we all wish you self-compassion and inner peace. And may you receive the love so many have for you. #ImConfidentInDemi Demi, I love you."
This past March, the 25-year-old celebrated six years of sobriety, sharing the news on Instagram and Twitter, but a few months later she released the piano ballad "Sorry," which alluded to her relapse in its heartbreaking lyrics. “Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor,” she sings. “And I’m sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again / I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.”
"I love @DDLovato so much. It breaks my heart that she is going through this. She is a light in this world, and I am sending my love to her and her family," said Ellen. Demi's ex Joe Jonas also posted about the singer. "Like all of you I am thinking of @DDLovato right now. She needs our prayers and support. We all know how strong you are Demi. #prayfordemi"

praying for @ddlovato and her health. When I was 14, she was an idol to me in how she spoke so openly about mental health. And now she continues to inspire thousands of young men and women with her body positivity messages. Addiction and mental illness doesn’t discriminate.
