Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's wedding is the gift that keeps on giving! After a whirlwind week earlier this month, partying with family and saying “I do” not once but twice, the newlyweds threw another lavish reception, this time in Mumbai. And like all of their other fetes, this one did not disappoint!
Their Mumbai reception, held at the JW Marriott Hotel, was an equally stunning celebration of their love for each other, with the Quantico star wearing a navy-blue lehenga by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Nick looking dapper as ever in a grey tuxedo. While their Delhi reception was more formal, with Bollywood stars in tow, their event in Mumbai was a grand gesture of thanks to their loved ones.
The couple took to the stage, adorned with a wall of white flowers, to tell a quick story of how their romance blossomed and thank guests for coming. The former Jonas Brother singer looked to the crowd and said: “It wasn’t too far from here that I took Madhu [Chopra] out to lunch and asked her if I could marry her daughter, so to be here tonight with all of you, the people who helped shape who she’s become, means a lot to me. And all of you embracing me with such open arms, it’s just unbelievable,” the newlywed gushed, before turning to Priyanka. “And to my beautiful wife, I couldn’t be happier to be with you and share these memories.”
The second reception followed their Christian and Hindu wedding ceremonies on the first two days of December at India’s famous Umaid Bhawan Palace, after which the two invited close family and friends – and Prime Minister Narenda Modi! – to an intimate reception in Delhi.
While little is known regarding what the guest list, celebrated actress Deepika Padukone was confirmed to the Hindustan Times by her manager to be attending. Of course, Priyanka’s mom, who helped organize the event, were there, along with members of the media. The reception follows a quick mini-moon in Oman at a beachside resort before the pair jetted back to Priyanka’s home country for the wedding of businesswoman Isha Ambani.
