It only took half a year for Nicole Kidman to give Keith Urban her whole heart. The Big Little Lies leading lady recently opened up about the moment she knew he was the one, and for her it happened at 5 a.m., right on her doorstep…

The dynamic duo – and red-carpet romance experts! – first met in Los Angeles about 14 years ago. Their bond quickly grew, and the Australian country crooner wasted no time telling her how he really felt. “It was my [38 th] birthday, and he stood outside with gardenias at 5 a.m. on my stoop in New York,” she told People. “That is when I went, ‘This is the man I hope I get to marry.’”

As if the GRAMMY winner couldn’t get any sweeter, he whisked his love off her feet and handed her a motorcycle helmet. The 51-year-old musician took her on a bike trip to Woodstock, New York for a getaway. “It was pretty intense. I believed by that point he was the love of my life,” she gushed. “Maybe that’s because I am deeply romantic, or I’m an actress, or I have strong faith as well, but I just believed, ‘Oh, okay, here he is.’”

From then on it was a whirlwind romance, culminating in a stunning wedding in her home country. To ring in their 12th wedding anniversary, the blond bombshell took to Instagram to share some never-before-seen wedding footage, including their kiss at the altar and gorgeous views of the Manly church at which they said “I do.” Nicole made jaws drop in a custom Nicolas Ghesquiere-designed Balenciaga gown.

Not only is Nicole and Keith’s love story worthy of the silver screen but the two are more smitten than ever. It’s plain to see whenever they appear on a red carpet together – the looks of love, the kisses and the words of encouragement. Back in November, Nicole was on hand to support her hubby at the Country Music Awards, where he took home the award for Entertainer of the Year. Taking to the stage to accept the trophy, he gushed over his family: “Baby girl, I love you so much. I’m shocked beyond shocked,” he gushed to the crowd, wiping away tears with the back of his hand. “Our girls at home, Fif and Munchkin, I love you. Thank you for supporting daddy and loving me through all of what I do. Same with you, baby girl, for making it worthwhile.”
