On Monday, Chris Hemsworth (a.k.a. Thor!) posted a photo of him and his wife Elsa Pataky on vacation in Thailand. The shot shows the 35-year-old soaring through the air about to do a bellyflop, and it was an image Ryan Reynolds (a.k.a. Deadpool!) – couldn’t help but mock.
“I can’t believe the water was only an inch deep,” Ryan commented on Hemsworth’s Instagram. “So sorry. Hope you’re recovering okay.” Chris’s response? "Yes I may have misjudged the depth @vancityreynolds, but scars fade, the legend of this leap will live on forever #worthit.”
This is the second hilarious social media interaction the pair has had in the past year. Back in August, the onscreen versions of the Marvel superheroes joked around about swapping roles during Chris’ 35th birthday, and it all started with pretty hilarious cake mishap.
“Immediately after this shot was taken my son viciously attacked me from behind (due to his ninja training) and slammed my face into the flaming candles,” Chris wrote alongside a sweet photo of him posing with his wife and a rather delicious-looking cake. “I’ll now be playing Deadpool if @vancityreynolds pulls the pin.”
The Thor star was inferring that he was left burnt and disfigured from the cake incident much like the character of Deadpool played by Ryan in the popular film franchise. While fans were quick to comment on the fun post, things escalated when the real life Deadpool made his own lighthearted remarks on Twitter.
Weird. My daughter JUST stabbed me in the right eye. (She’s not a ninja, but she IS a bit of a dick) Point is, We can finally trade roles... (Happy Birthday Bubba!) https://t.co/TsDLuTACaO

“Weird, My daughter JUST stabbed me in the right eye,” the 41-year-old actor began. “(She’s not a ninja, but she IS a bit of a dick).” Then getting back on topic, he added: “Point is, We can finally trade roles... (Happy Birthday Bubba!).”
The A-list exchange led to a flurry of requests for a Thor-Deadpool movie, and though there are no plans for such a cross-Marvel franchise just yet, we do expect to see a lot of Ryan and Chris in 2019.
Ryan will voice Pikachu in the movie Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, while Chris will appear in Avengers: Endgame and Men in Black: International .
