After one of the most romantic weddings Hollywood has ever seen, fans of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are eagerly awaiting some baby news. Lucky for them, the actress let the world in on their future plans while at the Monday (Feb. 11) premiere of her new film Isn’t It Romantic. They’re ready… When the time is right!
The newlywed made the statement at the premiere when asked whether the duo had babies on the brain. “We both know that that’s something that needs to happen, but it’s not something I think about very much,” she told reporters. “We’re both very driven, we love our work, we’re married to our work, and we’re both very supportive of each other’s work. So I’m sure it will happen in an organic way.”
Her sentiments echo those that she and her musician husband made to People last year. “I always say, ‘Man proposes, God disposes.’ So I’m not taking any chances,” she said. “We definitely want kids, and when the time is right, it will happen…Let us be married first for a while before we have to make all these big decisions. We’re in our honeymoon period right now and we will be for a very long time.”
A little over two months ago, the beautiful couple exchanged vows in not one, but two ceremonies – both traditional Christian and Hindu. They made the most stunning bride and groom at their nuptials in Jodhpur's Umaid Bhawan Palace Hotel, exchanging vows in the two gorgeous celebrations of love.
Leading up to their big day, the 26-year-old singer and his wife were joined by friends and family to celebrate their wedding week. Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner and her husband, Nick's brother Joe Jonas, hit downtown Mumbai with the bride and groom for some fun and festivities – a little letting loose before their ceremony
It's been a whirlwind romance for the two, who first met at the Vanity Fair Oscars party back in 2017. That's where the "Jealous" singer first laid eyes on his future wife, as she glided through the room in a black sequinned Michael Kors Collection dress. “And I put my drink down, get on one knee – this is in front of a bunch of people – and I say, ‘You’re real. Where have you been all my life?’ Like, loud," he told Vogue for their January issue.
The rest was history. After months of flirtation via text, the two reunited at the 2017 Met Gala before being spotted a year later on multiple dates – from their romantic yacht snap on Memorial Day weekend to attending a baseball game together (their third date!). Finally, Priyanka's birthday took the couple to Crete, where Nick popped the question. “I got down on one knee, again, and I said: ‘Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?’ No joke – she took about 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of silence,” Nick revealed. “I’m going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections.
