It would seem that everyone is in love with Duchess Meghan — even Beyoncé and Jay-Z! At the BRIT Awards on Wednesday night (Feb. 20), the powerhouse couple took home the trophy for Best International Group, after spending much of 2018 touring together. Though they didn’t attend the event in-person, they sent along a video message that saw them posing in front of a faux painting of Meghan donning jewels and a crown.
The video – a recreation of the pair's video for their song "APES-" – played for the audience. In the original video, Beyoncé and Jay-Z pose in front of Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa." This time, the painting was of Duchess Meghan – an illustration by American novelist Tim O'Brien, originally created for the magazine of the duchess’ sorority.

Thank you to the Brits for the award for Best International Group. I won this award back in 2002 with my besties, Kelly and Michelle. How lucky am I to have been in a group with my other best friend, the GOAT Hova. In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy.
In the clip, as it pans out from the imagery, the "Survivor" singer says to the camera: “Thank you so much to the Brit awards for this incredible honour. You guys have always been so supportive. Everything is love. Thank you.” Her husband responds: “You’re welcome,” before the pair look at the portrait.
After the ceremony, Queen Bey took to Instagram to explain their speech further: “In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy,” she shared. “Thank you to the Brits for the award for Best International Group. I won this award back in 2002 with my besties, Kelly and Michelle. The unexpected moment was no doubt the cherry on top of a special few days for the 37-year-old mom-to-be. She flew home to London on Wednesday evening (Feb. 20) after spending five days in New York City with her closest friends. Alongside Amal Clooney, Serena Williams, Jessica Mulroney and more, the Suits alum celebrated her firstborn with Prince Harry. The lavish event took place at The Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side of the city, and saw guests enjoy a flower-arranging session and dessert table from the hotel’s head chef.
One source told Harper's Bazaar that it was a special trip for the duchess: “The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves. This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born so it’s nice to share precious moments."
