Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have been living on cloud nine since announcing their engagement nearly two weeks ago, and for the first time since their loved-up Bahamas getaway, they’ve shared what the life-changing moment meant to them.
“We have [an] appreciation for where we are in our lives today, and that’s what we’re enjoying the most,” Rodriguez added.
The couple first shared the happy news of their engagement with fans along with an image of Jennifer's gorgeous 15 carat ring on A-Rod’s Instagram. “She said yes,” he wrote using a heart emoji. Jennifer shared the same snap with followers.
The pair told the publication they’re excited about planning their wedding, but they admitted tackling their first fashion partnership together is their biggest focus right now. Jennifer and Alex are the new brand ambassadors for the eyewear label Quay Australia, and even star in the company’s latest ad campaign.
“Everything that we do, we do together,” the Blue Bloods star told People, and noted her new fiancé has been incredibly supportive of her career aspirations. “He knows my dreams and I know his dreams, and together we feel like we’re stronger.”
The former New York Yankee said supporting J.Lo, and working with her on joint ventures, is incredibly important to him: “I don’t have to play 162 games anymore, so I have a lot of time on my hands.”
The dynamic duo – who together, with their kids, make a family of six – have been dating since 2017 and moved in together that same year. They recently marked their second anniversary with a heartwarming image and message posted to Jennifer's Instagram account on Feb. 3. “You make my world a more beautiful safe and stable place,” the singer wrote. “You make me feel like a teenager starting out all over again.”
The pair have spent much of their relationship paying sweet tributes to each other. At the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, J. Lo melted hearts with a message for Alex during her acceptance speech for the Vanguard Video Award. “Alex, you’re like my twin soul. My life is sweeter and better with you in it,” she said.
