Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski has changed dozens of people’s lives on the hit Netlifx reboot of the treasured ‘00s reality show. Every episode, he and Tan France, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness help people become their best selves.
This week, Antoni saw an entirely different version of himself when RuPaul Drag Race contestant Miz Cracker gave him an incredible drag makeover. His new look was done through LGBTQ+ news and current affairs website Them.’s Drag Me series as part of its epic sashay into Pride month.
Before getting started, Antoni confesses to Miz Cracker he was a bit anxious about the process, and said his only experience with drag was dressing up as a girl for Halloween when he was 10 years old and going as Britney Spears on Lip Sync Battle. But no experience is necessary to have a fun time with drag, and so the two head right into party city, which is where Antoni has always belonged!
While Miz Cracker applies Antoni’s makeup, the two bond over their coming out stories, and it turns out neither was what Antoni calls “stereotypically linear.” Antoni reveals his sexual orientation is more “fluid,” since he’s dated men and women, and says experiences with Pride have been coloured by his social anxiety. But he reveals that the anxiety and what he associated with Pride – “getting smashed” – shifted when he was invited to march in Montreal Pride with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeaulast year.
After that, the two are joined by British designer Christian Cowan to make his look complete. Antoni chooses a pastel powderpuff ensemble with feather sleeves, and finds out, yes, you probably should remove your socks while wearing a dress. That’s why there are tights.
The end result? He looks so good it’s disgusting! He’s perfect, he’s beautiful, he looks like Eva Evangelista, he’s a model!
