Jessica Mulroney joins celebrities defending Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry
By Zach Harper
Duchess Meghan’s good friend Jessica Mulroney joined a list of celebrities who have spoken out in support of Meghan and Prince Harry after the couple took Archie Harrison to France on a private jet hired by Elton John.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stayed at Elton and his husband David Furnish’s home in the French Riviera earlier this month, but received criticism for flying on a private jet, since they are both environmentalists. On Aug. 19, Elton tweeted that he had personally hired the jet and donated to The Carbon Footprint to offset its environmental impact.

Now Jessica is joining him, Ellen DeGeneres, Pink and other stars in calling out what they say is unfair treatment from the media and online trolls.
Jessica posted a screenshot of text and captioned it with “3 years of undeserved hate and abuse. It’s enough.”
“When someone faces unfair criticism, you call it out,” the text reads. “When that person is your friend and family, you call those critics what they truly are. Shame on you, you racist bullies.”
Jessica’s followers were quick to chime in in the comments.
“Yes there is bullying. No this particular incident does not constitute racism,” one wrote.
“It’s not just about this particular incident,” Jessica responded.
On Aug. 19, Elton evoked Princess Diana when he said he was “deeply distressed” by the “distorted and malicious account” he had read of Harry and Meghan’s stay at his home.
“Prince Harry’s Mother, Diana Princess of Wales was one of my dearest friends,” he tweeted. “I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death.

“After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home. To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private flight.”

The next day, Ellen called Harry and Meghan “the most down-to-earth, compassionate people.”
“Imagine being attacked for everything you do, when all you’re trying to do is make the world better,” she wrote.

Pink agreed.
“The way the people treat [Meghan] is the most public form of bullying I have seen in a while,” the singer tweeted. “It’s out of control. Let’s all be a bit kinder, huh? Let’s show our children that it’s cool to be kind.”
I’m happy to see people coming to the defense of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The way people treat her is the most public form of bullying I have seen in a while. It’s out of control. Let’s all be a bit kinder, huh? Let’s show our children that it’s cool to be kind.

Meghan, Harry and Archie were also reported to have flown to Ibiza for a holiday to celebrate Meghan’s 38 th birthday earlier this month. Now that they’re back in the UK, they are expected to head to Balmoral to spend some time with the Queen, who has been enjoying her summer holiday at the Scottish Highlands estate.
We’ll next see Archie with his parents when the family heads to South Africa on royal tour this October. Harry is also expected to make separate trips to Botswana, Angola and Malawi.
