The former US president and first lady posted adorable tributes to each other on Oct. 3, and they’ve given us total #couplegoals. Barack quoted The Beatles with his message, which featured a photo of him holding Michelle while looking off into a sunset.
“Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!” he wrote.
Michelle’s message included a photo of the couple laughing while on a veranda overlooking a beach. What she said will prompt “awws” – even from people with frozen hearts.
“27 years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure,” she wrote. “I’d say he’s delivered. Here’s to our next chapter of becoming empty nesters and discovering what’s next – while still feeling the magic that brought us together all those years ago. Happy anniversary, Barack.”
The couple signed a deal earlier this year with Netflix in which their new company Higher Ground Productions would create content for the streaming platform. They said their work would “harness the power of storytelling” and touch on “issues of race and class, democracy and civil rights, and much more,” according to USA Today.
