Jennifer Aniston and Gwen Stefani were named icons, while South Korea’s BLACKPINK and rising stars Cole Sprouse and Zendaya also had huge nights at the 2019 People’s Choice Awards on Nov. 10.

Both Cole and Zendaya picked up two trophies, winning for their roles on TV and on the big screen. Cole was named Drama Movie Star of 2019 for his performance in Five Feet Apart and also garnered a win for Male TV Star of 2019 for his work on Riverdale. Zendaya’s incredible performances in Spider-Man: Far from Home and Euphoria saw her take the Female Movie Star of 2019 and Drama TV Star of 2019 awards, respectively.

BLACKPINK, who have more YouTube subscribers than any other pop band in history, were named Group of 2019, won Music Video of 2019 for “Kill This Love” and their world tour garnered them Tour of 2019. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa were not on hand to accept their awards, but if you haven’t heard of BLACKPINK by now, expect to soon because the K-pop group is becoming ubiquitous.

Gwen was named Fashion Icon, becoming just the second person ever to win the award. It went to Victoria Beckham in 2018, and was presented to the Voice judge and pop music legend by designer Jeremy Scott. Gwen looked gorgeous in a Vera Wang dress with a long train that had “FASHION ICON” emblazoned on it.

The star, who first became known for her fashion in the early days of her time with No Doubt, has long spoken about how she used to make her own clothes. In her acceptance speech, she shouted out all the women in her family who influenced her by doing the same.

“Wow, this is hard to digest,” Gwen said in her acceptance speech. “I just always, always loved fashion. It was just one of those very instinctual things, I think probably because of my mom. My mom, my grandma, my great-grandma [all] sewed clothes. My mom would come home from school, and my grandma would have made her prom dress, so I feel like my favourite thing in my life is to go to the fabric store with my mom and pick out different looks… it was always there, so the fact that this is happening now is hard to imagine, beacsue it’s just what I do.”

Jennifer was named the People’s Icon during the show, and was given the award by her friend Adam Sandler, who called her “an incredible, caring role model with the biggest heart.” Jennifer thanked her generous fans for voting for her – and also got a shoutout to her Friends castmates in the process.

“If I have any claim to this word ‘icon,’ it’s only because I was able to be on an iconic show, with an iconic cast, and an iconic haircut,” she joked. “ Friends was truly – it was the gift of a lifetime, and I would not be standing up here without that amazing show, without those amazing five other actors, and with an audience who stuck with us… You believed in us, you really did, and you believed in those very impossibly large apartments.”

Pink was named People’s Champion in recognition of her kindness and philanthropy and acknowledged inspirations like Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Gloria Steinem, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Malala Yousafzai and Greta Thunberg in her acceptance speech.

“There is so much to be done,” she said. “I don’t care about your politics, I care about your kids. I care about decency and humanity and kindness. Kindness today is an act of rebellion. There are people who don’t have what you have – help them get it. There is a planet that needs help. It feels good to help. Stop fighting each other and help each other. Get together with your friends and change the… word.”
