Rachel Brosnahan stunned at the 2020 Golden Globes in a plunging oxblood Michael Kors gown alongside her dapper husband Jason Ralph. But the couple narrowly avoided a fashion mishap on the red carpet, and they have Rami Malek and Amy Poehler to thank for averting the disaster.
In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Jan. 7, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel actress explains how she almost had a major fashion faux pas at the Golden Globes when she was lining up to get her picture taken.
"We [Rachel and her husband] were all in line — it was a long line waiting to have our photos taken," she explained to host Jimmy Kimmel. "We're all hanging out in this cluster of random celebrities and Rami sort of looked at my husband Jason's bow tie and said, ‘Oh, hold on. Your bow tie is askew.'"
Jason was wearing a clip-in bow tie, which Rachel describes as "easier," but the problem was when they went to fix the bow tie they realized it had completely fallen apart because the clip was missing!
"‘Oh, no! We're inches from having our photos taken. What are we gonna do? This is a major crisis,'" recounted Rachel before acknowledging that a fashion emergency on the red carpet isn't quite the crisis when put into perspective.
No matter what, Amy and Rami stepped up and helped solve the fashion dilemma.
"All of these famous people are on the floor looking for the clip that's gone missing," Rachel revealed. "Amy was on the floor. Rami was on the floor."
The Mr. Robot actor fixed the broken bow tie and Rachel and Jason looked so stylish in their photos no one would ever know anything was amiss!
The experience left Rachel feeling very good about Hollywood.
"You know, like, people say that celebrities are mean," she said in conclusion. "That Hollywood's, like, kind of a toxic place. We felt very supported."
This wasn't the only story of celebrities supporting celebrities in a unique way at the awards. Jennifer Aniston revealed on Instagram Stories that Beyoncé and Jay-Z helped her and Reese Witherspoon out after their Golden Globes table ran out of water.
"Reese!? This is one of the many reasons I love you," the former Friends actress wrote on Instagram. "We ran out of water at our table so naturally she asked Jay-Z and Beyoncé for a glass of their champagne."
Beyoncé and her husband surprised by skipping the red carpet and showing up during the awards ceremony, with champagne bottles in their bodyguard's hands! The couple happily offered glasses to The Morning Show actresses.
