Jennifer Aniston appeared to be genuinely gobsmacked when she won the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series award at the 2020 SAG Awards on Jan. 19 for The Morning Show. But she still managed to deliver a fantastic speech, which included a sweet shoutout to her former co-star, Adam Sandler.
In the emotional speech, Jennifer expressed gratitude for a number of people, including Adam.
“Oh, Adam Sandler your performance is extraordinary. Your magic is real, buddy," she said. "I love you."
The Friends actress was referring to Adam's performance as gambling addict Howard Ratner in Uncut Gems. The film received rave reviews from critics, but it's been snubbed at multiple awards shows including the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and Oscars.
The funnyman was not in attendance at the SAG Awards ceremony, but did get the actress's sweet shoutout. He reciprocated the love for Jennifer on Instagram.
Adam uploaded a photo of Jen giving her acceptance speech and captioned the post, "Congrats to the great @jenniferaniston for her SAG award and her just being the best."
Jennifer and Adam have been friends for a long time and they have worked together on a couple projects, including 2011's
Just Go With It. Most recently, they appeared together in Netflix's Murder Mystery in 2019.
The actress had a special moment with ex-husband Brad Pitt at the 2020 SAG Awards, too. Brad also won a prize at the ceremony, picking up the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. The two shared an emotional moment backstage after Brad watched Jennifer win her prize.
This is Jennifer's second SAG Award. She previously won with the cast of Friends in 1996.
