2020 BAFTAs: Key winners from this year's show

It's BAFTAs time again! Awards for the 2020 edition of the show were handed out on Feb. 2 in London during one of the film industry's biggest nights. Duchess Kate and Prince William were on hand yet again at the event, which featured stars such as Joaquin Phoenix and Renee Zellweger making the trip across the pond.

Joaquin Phoenix picked up yet another award for his performance in Joker, winning the Best Actor trophy.

Renee Zellweger won another award for her performance in Judy, winning Best Actress.

Sir Sam Mendes's (centre) 1917 won the Outstanding British Film award. The blockbuster also picked up the Best Film award. Sam himself also won the Best Director award.
It absolutely cleaned up in the production categories, capturing the awards for Outstanding Sound, Best Cinematography, Outstanding Production Design and Best Visual Effects.

Brad Pitt picked up yet another award for his role in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. He wasn't able to attend the ceremony, but his co-star Margot Robbie accepted it on his behalf.
Brad also paid tribute to Prince Harry in his speech, saying he would name the award after the Duke of Sussex and was "excited to bring it back to the States." LOL!

Laura Dern has won every single award for which she's been nominated for her performance in Marriage Story this year, and she continued that at the BAFTAs. She took home Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film.

Taika Waititi hammed it up with his award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Jojo Rabbit in the winners room.

Director Bong Joon-ho's Parasite picked up two awards at the BAFTAs, including Best Film Not in the English Language and Best Original Screenplay.

Hildur Gudnadóttir continued to dominate awards season with her score for Joker, taking home yet another award. She won Outstanding Original Score.

Andy Serkis, better known as Gollum in the Lord of the Rings movies, took home the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award.

Micheal Ward, star of The A List and Blue Story, took home the EE Rising Star Award, which is decided by fans.

Little Sama was completely adorable in the winners room with the filmmakers of the For Sama documentary. The film won Best Documentary. It is about director and narrator Waad al-Kateab's journey as the wife of Hamza al-Kateab, who worked as one of Aleppo's only remaining doctors in the Syrian Civil War. It discusses how they raised their daughter, Sama, in the midst of one of the most devastating armed conflicts and ensuing humanitarian disasters in known memory.
