2020 Oscars nominees at their first ever Academy Awards

Do you remember watching the Oscars for the first time? This writer doesn't, but stars most *definitely* remember the first time they attended the Academy Awards! There are several veterans like Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Charlize Theron up for awards this year, along with some stars who have never been nominated, such as Antonio Banderas and Cynthia Erivo. All of them, however, have been to the show at least once.

Sadly, we don't have an image from Al Pacino's first Oscars, which was in 1973, when he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for The Godfather. But the next year, he was also up for an award, nominated for Best Actor for his performance in Serpico.

Unfortunately, we don't have a photo of Joe Pesci from his first Oscars, when he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Raging Bull in 1981. But we do have this awesome picture of him winning Best Supporting Actor for Goodfellas in 1991! He's up for the same award this year for The Irishman.
