Bradley Cooper and Renee Zellweger reunited at the Oscars

Awards season always provides the opportunity for some fantastic celebrity reunions. Former co-stars and couples meet up again on the red carpet and backstage, with photographers there to capture every memorable moment.

At the 2020 Oscars on Feb. 9, former flames Bradley Cooper and Renee Zellweger shared a sweet moment inside the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

You might have forgotten they were a couple, given they kept their romance out of the spotlight. After working together on the supernatural thriller Case 39, the pair reportedly quietly dated from 2009 to 2011.

There don't appear to be any hard feelings between the two, who broke up almost a decade ago. They were pictured talking and looked in high spirits during the 2020 Academy Awards. Entertainment Tonight reports they were chatting and smiling happily with each other.

Both stars certainly had a lot to celebrate. Renee won Best Actress Oscar for her work in Judy. She was a clear favourite of awards season, having swept the category across major shows, including the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and BAFTAs. The 2020 Academy Award also marked her second Oscar win.

Bradley, who was one of the producers of Joker, got to see the film recognized in a few categories. Composer Hildur Gudnadóttir picked up another award for her music, winning Best Original Score. Joaquin Phoenix also logged an awards season sweep for Best Actor after he picked up his Academy Award.

Renee had many people to thank. She finished her acceptance speech by paying tribute to the late Judy Garland, who she embodied in Judy.

"No, Judy Garland did not receive this honour in her time," Renee revealed. "I am certain that this moment is an extension of the celebration of her legacy that began on our film set.

"It's also representative of the fact that her legacy of unique exceptionalism and inclusivity and generosity of spirit, it transcends any one artistic achievement.

"Miss Garland, you are certainly among the heroes who unite and define us, and this is certainly for you. I am so grateful. Thank you so much, everybody. Good night. Thank you."
