Music fans around the world were touched to see Céline Dion and Andrea Bocelli collaborate on their classic "The Prayer" with John Legend, Lady Gaga and Lang Lang during the One World: Together at Home special earlier this month. And now, they've released a present of sorts that involves that song.
The music legends asked fans to record themselves singing the track so they could be part of a lyric video for the song, and the pair shared it on April 29.
"In our current situation, people all over the world are using video conferencing apps to communicate with each other," a message at the beginning of the clip reads. "Celebrating this new global togetherness, we asked fans to join each other online and sing along to Andrea Bocelli and Céline Dion's track, 'THE PRAYER.'"
The clip features dozens of people singing and holding up written messages of hope. Some are flags representing their countries of origin, while others are simply the lyrics written out or things they wanted others to see while watching. It's a touching production that's very needed at this current time, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the world.
As mentioned, Céline, Andrea, Lady Gaga, John and Lang Lang performed the track on the special, which was broadcast on April 17 worldwide. You can rewatch their performance below:
