Is peanut butter Canadian? How about the Zamboni?
Sandra Oh joined Jimmy Kimmel on his show on May 4 and played a very funny game of "Is it Canadian?" with him. After discussing the new season of Killing Eve and the former Grey's Anatomy star's hopes for health care workers during the coronavirus crisis, he said he had some questions for her about knowledge of her home country. Sandra was born in the Ottawa suburb of Nepean.
The 48-year-old star told Jimmy she isn't quarantined with her parents, but has been checking up on them very regularly. She joked around about their tendency to hold technological devices too close to their faces and hilariously said it's not getting any better despite repeated practice with video chat.
"Trying to do tech with them... it's like this," she joked, holding a tablet right in front of her face. "They show things like this... and it's like, impossible to get them to FaceTime you properly."
Jimmy asked the 48-year-old star if the Zamboni, Hawaiian pizza, flannel, California rolls and peanut butter were invented north of the 49th parallel. We won't spoil the answers, but you can find out for yourself by watching their chat below! We will tell you, though, that she got a perfect score!
As for Jimmy, he didn't know who the famous Canadian on Sandra's shirt was... but now he does! We're hoping you do because, as the Golden Globe winner said, he's someone almost all Canadians know and recognize.
