Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez postpone wedding due to COVID-19: report

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez were hopeful they'd still be able to marry in Italy this summer, but they've postponed their nuptials amidst the coronavirus pandemic, a report says.

The couple, who got engaged in March 2019, were said to be planning a big, romantic bash in Italy in the late summer, E! News reports. They still hope to do so when the pandemic ends, a source told the website.

"They have been struggling for weeks over this decision, but with no return to normalcy in the near future, the couple felt postponing the wedding was the safest and smartest choice," the source said. "Guests have recently been notified that the wedding will not be happening in the late summer as anticipated."

As mentioned, the couple got engaged in March 2019, while they were on vacation in the Bahamas. The two have been dating since 2017 and moved in together that same year.

They've successfully blended their two families, with Jennifer's twins Emme and Max getting on extremely well with Alex's children Natasha and Ella. Emme and Max are J.Lo's children from her marriage to Marc Anthony, and Natasha and Ella are A-Rod's kids from his marriage to Cynthia Scurtis. Max is expected to walk his mother down the aisle. The family have all been isolating together during the coronavirus pandemic.

"I'd like a big wedding, I'd like to get married in a church this time," J.Lo told Entertainment Tonight last year. "Never been married in a church."
