The Canadian stylist is well-versed in the wedding and fashion industries. She is a consultant for fashion brands and has a reality TV series, I Do, Redo, where she gives 10 deserving couples a second chance at their dream wedding after their first times didn’t go quite as planned.
She and husband Ben Mulroney's three children – Ivy, 6, and nine-year-old twins Brian and John – served as flower girl and pageboys at the 2018 royal wedding of Jessica's best friend Duchess Meghan to Prince Harry.
Smash + Tess is a Canadian brand founded by Vancouver-based mother-daughter-best-friend trio Teresa "Tess" Freeborn, Ashley Freeborn and Mercedes LaPorte. The brand ethically produces cozy casualwear in North America for a range of body types.
The bridal collaboration between Jessica Mulroney and Smash + Tess is a comfortable and creative range for brides, grooms and bridal parties, focused on the brand's signature rompers.
"Wedding" white, soft grey, and pale "I do" blue rompers are decorated with wedding-themed sayings on the back, including "I asked...," "I said yes!" and "I do!"
The brand says the collection could be used for a range of wedding occasions, while keeping the coronavirus pandemic and regulations in mind.
"Whether via Zoom or safely 6 feet apart, at your I Do Crew hangouts and I Asked/I
Said Yes announcements, we’ve got you covered....in your fave Rompers & Romperalls!" the press release stated.
“I wanted to create an inclusive bridal collection with Smash + Tess," explained Jessica in a press release about the line, which is available in sizes XXS-XXL.
"It doesn’t matter who proposed or to whom – a proposal should always be celebrated," she continued.
"These Rompers are made for all shapes, sizes, genders, and especially made for all the LOVE.
"Wear them in comfort and wear them knowing love always finds a way."
The wedding collection campaign images reflect this. They feature real-life couples and were shot "respecting social distancing guidelines" in light of COVID-19 with the intention of representing what is possible right now. And the Jessica Mulroney Smash + Tess bridal collab is available to shop online from May 19.
The bridal collection will also help support the Shoebox Project by donating $10,000 from its sales. Co-founded by Jessica and her sisters-in-law, the Shoebox Project collects and distributes gift-filled shoe boxes to women affected by homelessness in Canada and the United States.
