'Schitt's Creek' receives seven nominations for LGBTQ TV awards

Schitt's Creek has been incredible for LGBTQ+ representation on television, and it's been recognized for that by receiving seven nominations for the Dorian TV Awards, which are decided by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critic.

Dan Levy purposely set out to create an LGBTQ-friendly universe where there was no homophobia on the show. Now his much-loved series received nominations for Best TV Comedy, Best TV Performance - Actress for Catherine O'Hara, Best TV Performance - Actor for Eugene Levy, Best Supporting TV Performance - Actress for Annie Murphy, Best Supporting TV Performance - Actor for Dan himself, best LGBTQ TV Show and Best TV Musical Performance for Noah Reid. Dan is also nominated for the Wilde Wit Award for his work in the entertainment industry.

Ryan Murphy's Hollywood received six nominations. Other shows up for awards include Bad Education, Watchmen, The Crown, Dead to Me, Mrs. America and What We Do in the Shadows.

The Dorian TV Awards will be handed out Aug. 21. Here is the complete list of nominations:
